Some pineapple completes their ripening stage on the counter,

However keeping them on the counter may pose some threats to this amazing fruit,

Some pests may like to infest it while on the counter and this causes a serious risk to our health.

How To Tell If Pineapples And Dole Pineapple Juice Is Bad

Pineapples do not hide when they go bad.

They must reveal some signs if they go bad and the signs they show are what we have drafted out from the research that has been carefully gathered.

Here are some signs pineapples show when they go bad or when they are about to go bad

If you are conversant with pineapple, you will notice that their scent intensity increases when they are headed south,

the next thing you will experience within a few hours is that the high intensity of the flavor will

reduce drastically and an oozing odor will rise when it is bad completely.

The look of the pineapple will change, most pineapples are yellow when they are ripe but if they go bad the yellowish color will turn out to be brown.

When this happens all the inner parts will assume a brownish color with brown spots in them.

When you get to touch or feel the pineapple,

you will notice that it is soggy and drips a lot of the supposed sweet juice,

hence the sweet juice has turned out to the south.

One significant feature of pineapples even if they are stored in the fridge, counter, or freezer is that it drips water whenever it goes bad.

How To Store And Pineapple Make It Last Longer

Storing this wonderful and mouth-watering fruit is the best thing you can do for a juice lover.

There is no special storage method you can use to preserve pineapple, all you have to do is to preserve it a whole or cut.

If you are preserving the whole, you may remove the crown or leave it by choice,

However, I prefer preserving the whole with the crown.

Now choose your storage method depending on the duration you would want it to stay before it goes bad or when possible it will be of interest to you.

Would you like to preserve it when it is cut, uncut, or peeled? This helps it to last longer, especially when it is frozen.

Getting them frozen can be achieved by cutting them into bits,

And packaging the pineapple bits in an airtight container or a ziplock plastic satchel.

  1. So I followed the advice on Pineapples. Shelf life at room temperature 2 to 3 days. Wife (who is from Hawaii and knows Better), followed my advice (from internet) and cut her nice pineapple on Day 3. Normally she lets it set till it turns yellow. Yep… It was green. I’m in the dog house for listening to the so called internet experts and have to eat green Pineapple. She is so mad, she says she will never buy another pineapple. Your website and your fellow experts know nothing about Pineapples. Thanks alot! Look Folks, pineapples ripen at room temperature contrary to what you are advising. You wait till they turn golden before cutting. Please update and correct your information about Pineapples.

  2. Thanks for your feedback. We have taken time to review our post on how long pineapple lasts in the fridge and on how long canned pineapple lasts in the fridge.

We discovered that we did not give any advice on buying pineapple till it turns golden before cutting.

Please read carefully to avoid making this mistake next time.

Cut pineapples last for 12 to 48 hours on the counter and if you keep it in the fridge it will last more, provided your fridge is in good working condition.

In the storing tips, if you want your pineapples to last longer, get a fresh one and not overripe Pineapples.
