- To make onion oil, 1/2 an onion is chopped and blended to a paste.
- This being done, you pour the blended paste into a pot and let it cook for about 10 minutes on low heat.
- After the said 10 minutes, increase the fire and let it cook for about 10 minutes more.
- Sieve the chaff after it must have cooled down to prevent a visit to the hospital.
- Turn the oil into a sealable container.

Onion juice lasts for a maximum of 2 to 4 days in the fridge before going bad if you keep it properly in the right conditions necessary in the refrigerator.
Keeping the onion juice for more than this amount of time can only be done with preservatives
And once you add preservatives to the juice it becomes impotent and doesn’t work because it loses all the vitamins.
So the best bet is to be timely so it doesn’t waste.

How To Make Onion Oil For Skin
Preparing onion oil for skin is almost the same as making it for cooking, except with the addition of coconut oil.

It’s up to you to take out the flesh or use another method where the flesh is separated using a colander
Specifically to avoid bits of flesh in the juice.

Making onion oil is not rocket science, chop and blend the onion, you would need water, a little bit of it mind you.
We don’t want to lose all the onion in a sea of water.
1/2 an onion if you have short hair or if your hair is not dense, a whole onion or two if you’re one with long, thick, or dense hair.
After chopping and blending, pour the blended onion into a pot and cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes,
Increase the heat and let boil for another 10 minutes.
Set aside and let it cool for a day and sieve it well.
Other essential oils may be added to onion oil for maximum utilization.
Lavender oil, Tea-tree oil, and other oils could be added to give your hair a lustrous shine and a healthy look.

Yes, it does! Although the word ‘smell’ may be misjudged for something with an offensive odor.
Onions give off a pungent but nice smelling odor so it is completely normal.

You most definitely can. It may be used 2 times daily, once in the morning and once in the evening for a couple of weeks for maximum effect.
And then you may reduce it to once or twice a week to prevent being burned or having your skin sensitized due to the sulfur in onions.

Yes, you can keep onion oil to use for another time.
- After cooking the onion to extract it, remove it from the flame and let it cool.
- Sieve it properly and keep it in good condition.
For a longer period of time, you can preserve it in a sealable container and can remain there for about 2-3 years. It may also be refrigerated but only for a short while say 2-3 days.

Onion oil does not have an expiry date, there’s really no stipulated time as to when the oil is no longer fit for use.
